expanding fail

Have seen several comments about this, but no fixes. Trying to install on a new Compaq Presario 2000V, with plenty of space and RAM.
Everytime the instal gets to the "Expanding Files" around 22-25 precent, the install then fails.
Am using the DVD from mr. softee.
Would appreciate any help in this area

Mr. Softee? If you didn't get the ISO from Microsoft than it is probaly a bad image.
